An elaborate floral blend inspired by the Renaissance. Devised and compiled by garden artist Reinhard Krehl.
In honor of the famous Renaissance painter Lucas Cranach from Wittenberg.
The Cranach flowering seed mix is a mix of locally-grown wildflowers and old cultivated plants.
The mixture ensures rich flowering throughout the year. The selected plants were used in the workshop of the Renaissance painter Lucas Cranch in Wittenberg. Flowers that are depicted on paintings of the master, flowers that were used as natural raw materials of painting and plants from the pharmacy of the painter.
It contains, among others: Aquilegia, bittercress, yellow chamomile, catsear, primrose, bellflower, Lotus corniculatus, Fragaria viridis (species of strawberry), small mullein, cornflowers, labweed, flax, corn poppy, agrimony, Anchusa, wild pansies and tormentil.
The mixture is a valuable food source for insects, bumblebees, bees and butterflies. It can enrich natural gardens, balconies, pots and also the city nature!

The artist Reinhard Krehl (* 1965) studied landscape planning and walk science with Prof. Lucius Burckhardt. In his artistic work, he repeatedly works with nature and plants. Since 2001 Reinhard Krehl lives in Leipzig. His first wildflower mix is the "Leipzig Mix" and there are more to come.
