ANNE SCHWALBE - Photography

Anne Schwalbe - Photography

The work of Berlin artist Anne Schwalbe focuses on nature and visualizes stillness. She works with an analogue 6x6 medium format camera. Since 2018 her column The Gardens of Others is published at Zeit Magazin. She studied photography at the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie Berlin, and before that German and Cultural Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin. She lives and works as a freelance photographer in Berlin. Her work is exhibited in Europe, the USA and Japan.

The title of her current work: WIESE GARTEN BAUM. Currently Anne is working on Winter Snow Ice Fog, which I am looking forward to.

When I'm out and about and I have my camera with me, I take a photo as soon as something catches my eye. I never go around looking. Either something catches my eye and I find it interesting, or not.

I stumbled upon her work via Zeit Magazin and her Instagram account is one of the few I follow. Have a look and gain an insight into Annes artistik work and the progress on her timberframe reconstruction building site in the middle of nowhere.
